The Sailfin Pleco is a peaceful, nocturnal armored catfish renowned for its excellent algae-eating habits when young and its grand presence as it reaches adulthood. Native to the Amazon and Orinoco river basins, it features a distinct pattern of dark geometric spots over a yellowish-brown body. While very easy to care for, beginner aquarists must account for its impressive adult size and provide adequate tank space as it matures.
