When planting, take care not to bury the crown (the point where leaves meet the roots), as burying it completely can cause the plant to rot. Space individual stems about an inch apart to allow room for runners.

This versatile plant adapts well to a broad spectrum of freshwater parameters and thrives under low-to-moderate lighting without requiring complex high-tech CO2 injection systems. While it can survive in hard or soft water, maintaining stable temperatures between 68°F and 82°F ensures steady vertical growth. Periodic application of a liquid iron fertilizer will prevent leaves from turning pale and enhance their rich green color.
3. Maintenance & Propagation
Propagation occurs naturally through underground runner shoots that sprout new baby plantlets around the aquarium floor. Once these offsets reach a few inches in height, they can be trimmed away from the mother plant and replanted elsewhere. Regular maintenance involves simply pruning away older, outer leaves near the base if they become worn, or trimming the tips if they grow too long along the water surface.
