The Live Marine Rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis) 90ml culture is an essential, high-protein microscopic organism specifically cultivated as a first-food for delicate marine fish larvae, SPS/LPS corals, and filter-feeding invertebrates.
Short Description & Highlights
Our concentrated 90ml live Marine Rotifer culture is packed with dense, nutrient-rich zooplankton engineered to support marine breeding projects and reef tank health. Sourced from pristine, bisecure aquaculture lines, these active L-type rotifers provide optimal nutrition for newly hatched clownfish, gobies, and filter feeders, helping beginner and advanced aquarists successfully raise sensitive fry.

Detailed Beginner Care & Feeding Guide
1. Understanding Marine Rotifers
Marine rotifers are microscopic multicellular animals prized in the hobby for their slow, erratic swimming motion, which triggers the predatory feeding response in newborn fish fry that ignore motionless dry foods. The Brachionus plicatilis strain is exceptionally hardy and adaptable, making it the most forgiving and reliable species for hobbyists venturing into marine aquaculture for the first time.
2. Application & Dosing in the Aquarium
For reef tanks, simply shake the 90ml bottle gently and pour the contents directly into an area of high water flow, ideally with protein skimmers temporarily turned off for 30 minutes to allow corals and filter-feeding invertebrates (like feather dusters and clams) to consume them. When feeding fish larvae, target-dose the culture into the rearing tank to ensure a continuous, cloud-like suspension of food is available for the fry to graze on throughout the day.
3. Maintaining or Storing the Culture
If not feeding out the entire 90ml bottle at once, the culture can be briefly stored in a cool location with aeration, or sustained short-term by adding a few drops of liquid marine phytoplankton (Nannochloropsis) to keep the rotifers alive and nutritionally gut-loaded until use. For long-term success, regular water quality monitoring of your breeding or culture station is strongly recommended.
